Meet the ‘Animal House’ Actor From Donald Trump’s First Major Commercial

For his first major TV commercial of the campaign, former “Celebrity Apprentice” host, bestselling author of self-help books and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has tapped actor Bruce McGill to perform his voiceover. This news comes to us via Media Matters.
If you don’t recognize McGill’s face, that’s ok — McGill doesn’t appear in the ad; he just intones portentous warnings on the order of “Donald Trump’s America is secure; terrorists and dangerous criminals kept out.”
McGill, son of the late Jewish San Antonio artist Adriel “Squeaky” McGill (née Jacobs) is a regular on “Rizzoli and Isles.” And he’s done some good work in a couple of Michael Mann films. But he is probably best known for his turn as “D-Day” in the film “Animal House” and its lesser-known TV spinoff series “Delta House.” McGill’s voice work for the Trump campaign is fine, we suppose. But we can’t help but think that McGill’s cast mate John Belushi did a more impressive job with similar material.
