Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reveals Private Wedding Video On First Anniversary

“Dancing with the Stars” professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd wed in a fairy-tale Conservative Jewish wedding ceremony one year ago on Long Island. But on the first anniversary of their big day, Chmerkovskiy revealed that the couple officially married at City Hall prior to their 300 person Jewish wedding.
Chmerkovskiy, a Jewish Latin-ballroom dance champion, took to Instagram to celebrate one year of marriage to fellow professional dancer Murgatroyd. He uploaded a video of the couple reciting vows at City Hall just days before their glamorous wedding one year ago.
Whilst we may not be able to have the Disney-esque wedding that the couple shared, we can all aspire to the idyllic life of true love that this couple seemingly have. Whether it be their ability to work together, currently on a dance tour alongside Chmerkovskiy’s brother Val Chmerkovskiy, or their son Shai (proudly an Israeli name,) the couple seem to have it all. We look forward to following their fairy-tale life into the future.

Now more than ever, American Jews need independent news they can trust, with reporting driven by truth, not ideology. We serve you, not any ideological agenda.
At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
This is a great time to support independent Jewish journalism you rely on. Make a gift today!
