Baltimore cops will hold a “Crime Town Hall” meeting Monday night to respond to growing fears over a recent spike in armed robberies and burglaries targeting the city’s Jewish community.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the in Northwest Baltimore at 5700 Park Heights Ave.

The meeting was called after two recent stickups of local Jewish residents and more than 20 home break-ins in recent weeks.

The latest armed mugging happened Thursday night in in the Benhurst/Templegate area on Templegate Road. A man exiting his vehicle in his driveway was confronted by two men who stuck a gun in his face and made off with the wallet, credit cards, license and his cell phone, reports Baltimore Jewish Life.

The local Shomrin and Northwest Citizens patrols reported that three extra cops had been assigned to Northwest Baltimore over the weekend.

In a statement, they said: “We are all aware of the recent increase in crime within our community. Baltimore City and County Police work hard to protect the citizens of our community day and night. We, the members of NWCP and Shomrim, are committed to being the eyes and ears of our community.”

Residents are being urged to call the cops at 911 and the all 911 and Baltimore Shomrim at 410.358.9999 if they have any information.
