Neo-Nazis Claim Hamas Will Speak at Montana March

(JTA) — A neo-Nazi website claims a member of the Palestinian Hamas movement will speak at its planned anti-Jewish rally in Whitefish, Montana.

Andrew Anglin, who runs the Daily Stormer website, wrote in a post published Thursday that nationalist groups from the United Kingdom, Sweden, France and Greece will attend the march.

He said the Hamas representative “will give a speech about the international threat of the Jews.”

The group has vowed to destroy the Jewish state and fought a 2014 war against Israel. But in interviews the group’s leaders have disavowed opposition to Jews living outside the borders of Israel and the West Bank territories it occupies militarily.

“We don’t have originally something against the Jew as a religion or against the Jew as a human being,” Mousa Abu Marzook, the group’s number two leader, told the Forward in April 2012. “The problem is that the Israelis kicked out my family. They have occupied my land and injured thousands of Palestinians…. I have to differentiate between the Jew who did this problem to my people and [American] Jews…who never did anything bad to my people.”

Anglin said that participants will march through the center of Whitefish, and end at Memorial Park, where several people will speak. Whitefish is home to white supremacist leader Richard Spencer, president of the National Policy Institute, a white supremacist think tank, as well as his mother.
