Kosher Steak House Prime for Meaty Month

It’s a busy month at New York kosher steakhouse Le Marais, with a Bastille Day party on July 14 and the launch of its meat-focused cookbook, “Le Marais: A Rare Steakhouse – Well-Done” (Gefen) on July 18. Chef Jose Meirelles co-authored with Mark Hennessey.

In the book’s forward, former Senator Joe Lieberman and his wife Hadassah write: “Where else would a non-Jewish Portuguese immigrant open a French bistro, hire an Irish-Italian Catholic as its executive chef, and create one of the finest and most successful kosher restaurants in the United States?”

Only in New York, baby. Only in New York.
