Rockets From Gaza Slam Into Homes

A long-range Grad rocket fired from Gaza seriously damaged two houses in a southern Israeli city.

Two homes in Netivot, located between Gaza and Beersheba, were hit with one rocket in the early Sunday morning attack. One of the homes was completely destroyed. A resident of the home saved himself by running into a bathroom with a concrete ceiling, Ynet reported. The rest of the house fell down around him, according to the report.

A second rocket landed in Beersheba, but did not cause any damage.

Six people suffered from shock in Beersheba and three in Netivot.

Following the attacks, school was cancelled for Sunday in the southern Israeli cities of Beersheba, Ashdod and Omer.

Two rockets had hit Netivot on Friday morning as well.

Since the beginning of 2012, more than 455 rockets hit have Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces. In the first nine days of September more than 10 rockets have hit southern Israel, also triggering alarms in the nearby communities.
