After an ugly contest that filled the airwaves with attack ads, Democrat Josh Gottheimer has won his New Jersey congressional race against Republican incumbent Scott Garrett.
Scott Garrett has managed to hang onto his House seat for six years in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional district, quite the achievement given his far-right stances on social issues. That might change in a few days, though, as the incumbent faces the fight of his life from Josh Gottheimer, a Jewish former speechwriter for Bill Clinton.

Rabbi Dennis Shulman of Demarest is sure hoping so. Shulman, a longtime clinical psychologist who was ordained in 2003, has a pretty incredible biography (he became blind late in childhood) and is hoping to use it against Republican incumbent Scott Garrett in New Jersey’s fifth congressional district.
