דער ערשטער באַנד פֿון ד״ר שבֿע צוקערס לערנבוך, „ייִדיש: אַן אַרײַנפֿיר — לשון, ליטעראַטור און קולטור‟, איז ערשט אַרויסגעלאָזט געוואָרן אין אַ נײַער אויפֿלאַגע אין בוכפֿאָרעם. אויך דער צווייטער באַנד וועט אין גיכן אַרויסגעלאָזט ווערן.

זינט זײַן אַרױסקום מיט מער װי 25 יאָר צוריק איז „ייִדיש: אַן אַרײַנפֿיר‟ באַניצט געוואָרן איבער דער װעלט אין פֿאַרשײדענע לערן־קאָנטעקסטן: אין אוניװערסיטעט, מיטלשול־קלאַסן, ייִדיש־קורסן פֿאַר דערװאַקסענע און אַלײן־לערנערס.

די נײַע אױסגאַבע נעמט אַרײַן אַ צאָל ענדערונגען. מע האָט פֿאַרראָכטן גרײַזן אין אױסלײג און אַקצענט־צײכנס; פֿאַרבעסערט די גראַמאַטישע דערקלערונגען; צוגעגעבן נאָך ווערטער צום גלאָסאַר און געשאַפֿן נײַע געניטונגען.

במשך פֿון די יאָרן האָט מען אויך אַנדערע פּרטים פֿאַרבעסערט און געביטן. מע האָט למשל, צוגעגעבן ענטפֿער־שליסלען, װערבן־שליסל, קאָמפּאַקטלעך און שליסלדיסקן. די רעקאָרדירונגען גיבן איבער בעל־פּה די דיאַלאָגן, דערצײלונגען, גראַמאַטיק, געניטונגען, לידער און שפּריכװערטער װאָס פֿיגורירן אין די ביכלעך, באַזאָרגנדיק די סטודענטן מיטן ריכטיקן אַרויסרייד און אינטאָנאַציע פֿונעם גערעדטן ייִדיש. כּדי צו באַשטעלן דאָס בוך גיט אַ קוועטשט דאָ

Why I became the Forward’s editor-in-chief

You are surely a friend of the Forward if you’re reading this. And so it’s with excitement and awe — of all that the Forward is, was, and will be — that I introduce myself to you as the Forward’s newest editor-in-chief.

And what a time to step into the leadership of this storied Jewish institution! For 129 years, the Forward has shaped and told the American Jewish story. I’m stepping in at an intense time for Jews the world over. We urgently need the Forward’s courageous, unflinching journalism — not only as a source of reliable information, but to provide inspiration, healing and hope.
