Suicide Bomber Strikes on Egypt Side of Border
A suicide bomber exploded Friday morning next to a group of Egyptian soldiers on the Israeli-Egyptian border, security sources told Haaretz. The man is thought to be part of the group that carried out the terror attacks on Thursday.
The sources said some soldiers were injured, yet added it is unclear how many were hurt and to what degree.
On Thursday, three Egyptian soldiers were killed in firefights with the terrorist group, one of them an officer. The Egyptian army said in a statement that “an Israeli helicopter was chasing the terrorists, and three security personnel were caught in the line of fire.” Three Egyptian soldiers were injured in the incident and taken to a hospital in El Arish, northern Sinai.
