Fox News’ “hard news” shows have placed a “soft ban” on former White House official Sebastian Gorka, multiple sources at Fox News told The Daily Beast.’
The network’s news division, which prides itself on traditional journalism that doesn’t echo the pro-Trump rhetoric on its opinion programs, will not feature Gorka — the controversial ex-aide to President Donald Trump and former national security adviser to Steve Bannon — as a contributor. He had become an on-screen favorite of Trump, as Gorka seemed to find joy in berating journalists during media appearances.
Since being fired by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly last August, he’s been a frequent guest on Trump-approved programs, such as Hannity, Fox & Friends, and The Ingraham Angle.
Trump continues to watch Gorka regularly, according to The Daily Beast, and still tells associates how much he enjoys seeing “Seb” on cable news.

Did you know that only 2% of Forward readers donate to support our nonprofit newsroom? That 2% make it possible for millions to read the Forward without a paywall or subscription — removing any barriers to the full and fair Jewish story.
But while the Forward is free to read, it isn’t free to produce. Big stories — like deep dives into the antisemitism data, political scoops or reporting trips to college campuses — take months of research and fact-checking. All while we keep you informed of what you need to know each day.
