White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a press briefing Monday that the president and first lady are traveling to Pennsylvania on Tuesday. They’re expected to arrive at the Pittsburgh airport at 3:45 p.m., the New York Times reported.
Trump’s daughter and son-in-law reportedly convinced the president to visit the city, following the mass shooting at a local synagogue, which killed 11.The Jewish couple also reportedly urged the president to share a powerful statement condemning anti-Semitism.
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and other leaders are snubbing the trip, saying Trump should wait until after the victims are buried.
