Israeli Consulate Launches Christian ‘Holy Land’ Quiz

How many Stations of the Cross are there? Where was Jesus arrested?
Facebook users can test their knowledge of Christian religious sites in Israel by taking the new quiz “Holy Land Trivia: From Creation to Creativity.” The Consulate General of Israel in New York launched the application early this month, just prior to Pope Benedict XVI’s first visit to Israel, building off the attention the trip has drawn to Israeli-Christian relations in the Holy Land and abroad.
Quiz takers may choose to be tested on “Holy Sites in Israel” or “Modern Israel,” and can select from three levels of difficulty (easy, medium and brave). With questions on religious doctrine, history and geography, the brave test is likely to challenge most users. To truly succeed on the test, it might help to have ridden a bike around the Sea of Galilee, spent Christmas in Bethlehem, visited a number of Nazareth’s churches and attended Sunday school (at a church and a synagogue). Luckily, for those who haven’t, the answer, an explanation and a photo follow each question. Some are also accompanied by quotations from the New Testament.
The “Modern Israel” quiz also mixes in questions about the “White City” of Tel Aviv and green energy in Israel. Facebook users can challenge their friends to take the quizzes, and then compare the scores.
