Video: A very quarantined Four Questions

To help get you in the mood for your virtual Seders, the Forward has created a video with a very special reading of the Four Questions.

In “A Very Different Night,”actors from television, film and Broadway, two comics and one dog puppet with an excellent Hebrew accent join to recite the traditional Four Question liturgy from the Passover seder. They also offer some original answers for this Passover in a pandemic.

“Why is this night different than all other nights,” Mayim Bialik (“The Big Bang Theory”) chants in Hebrew, followed by a red-carpet worth of talent: Jared Harris (“Chernobyl”), comedian Moshe Kasher, Michaela Watkins (“Casual”), Robert Smigel (Triumph the Insult Comic Dog), Sebastian Roche (“Man In the High Castle”), Alicia Hannah (“White Collar Blue”), Jackie Hoffman (“Feud”) and Ayla Schwartz (Broadway’s “Frozen”).

Don’t miss the Emmy-nominated dog puppet, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (“Late Night with Conan O’Brien”), not just reciting the questions but acting them out.

And we’ve even got a bonus track: “Mayim’s Chad Gaya,” in which Mayim Bialik — actress, scientist, activist, observant Jew — sings the entire traditional holiday song, “Chad Gaya.”

“A Very Different Night” blends the traditional Hebrew liturgy with the actors’ own take on how this Passover really is different for them.

In the end, there are shout-outs to all those celebrating the holiday, as well as to the delivery and health care workers who are making it all possible — and to Zoom, of course.

Chag sameach to you, your dogs, and your dog puppets, from the Forward.
