A Prayer For Hospitalized Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized after an injury, The New York Times reported on Thursday morning. Justice Ginsburg fell in her office on Wednesday night, the paper reports, but was brought to George Washington University Hospital on Thursday morning where she was admitted, having broken three ribs on her left side. The Justice is 85 years old.
A prayer for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg :
Mi shebeirach, imoteinu — may the one who blessed our mothers
Who blessed Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah, and Sandra Day O’Connor
Bless and heal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
May she be comfortable in body and in soul
May she be kept safe from infection, paparazzi, and bad jell-o
In her time of sickness may God be filled with compassion for her (and for us)
Oh, God! Grant us hope. Grant us patience.
Grant that she who is notorious shall be safe in body and mind.
May God, or whatever higher power Ruth Bader Ginsburg believes in,
Send swift and complete renewal of body and spirit to she who has lived
Through world war, civil rights, twenty-five years on the bench, children, grandchildren, and her first great-grandchild.
May she live to blink stoically at her own Hollywood biopic
And to do so, so much else.
And let us say, Amen.
