Of all of the Passover traditions, the obligation to have four cups of wine (or grape juice) at the Passover seder might be the most controversial.
While there are many varieties of kosher wine available, some Seder hosts prefer to harken back to the days when the only kosher options were sickly sweet — think Magen David or Manischewitz. Others have a slightly more sophisticated palate and prefer sweet and bubbly blue bottles of Bartenura. The most genteel eshkew anything sweet and serve dry whites and reds from Israel, Italy, France and California. The young and the truly noble might even stick with grape juice.
