Munich Widow Leads Sunday Moment of Silence

A moment of silence to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the massacre at the Munich Olympics will be livestreamed from a suburban New York JCC on Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT.

Ankie Spitzer, the widow an Israeli coach who was killed at the 1972 Games, will join the JCC Maccabi Games opening ceremonies at the JCC Rockland in New York for the moment of silence to be streamed on www.ooVoo.com.

The JCC Rockland had initiated a petition drive, which turned into an international campaign, to hold a moment of silence at the London Olympics in memory of the 11 Israeli athletes and coaches killed by Palestinians terrorists at the Munich Olympics. The International Olympic Committee turned down the request.
