Judith Brachman Named to Federal Panel on Long-Term Care
Judith Brachman, a longtime member of the Jewish Federations of North America’s board, was appointed to a 15-member federal commission on long-term care.
Brachman was namedd to the newly created national Commission on Long-Term Care by U.S. Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio), the speaker of the House of Representatives. The commission was created as part of the recent fiscal cliff agreement to assist with the delivery and financing of support for those in need of long-term care.
“We are honored that Judith and JFNA are being recognized for the pivotal role we can play in contributing to the national purpose of transforming long-term supports and services in the 21st century,” said Michael Siegal, chair of the JFNA board of trustees.
Brachman is the national co-chair of JFNA’s Aging and Family Caregiving Committee. She has been a senior vice president of the Columbus Jewish Federation. She also has served as president of the National Association of State Units on Aging and has worked with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
