Jewish Girl, 9, Stabbed by West Bank Intruder

A nine-year-old girl was injured in a suspected terrorist attack in a West Bank settlement.

The girl was injured Saturday night on the porch outside of her home in Psagot, located north of Jerusalem and adjacent to Ramallah.

Although shots were fired, it is believed that the girl, Noam Glick, was stabbed, according to reports. She was treated in Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem after the incident and, following surgery, was downgraded from serious to light condition with wounds at the base of her neck, across her chest and on her ear.

According to the girl’s father, a scream brought him out to the porch where Noam told him that there was an Arab trying to enter the house.

The attacker has not been captured, Israeli soldiers found a breach in the settlement’s fence and what the Israel Defense Forces is calling an “improvised weapon.”

The family’s house is located at the edge of Psagot, several hundred yards from the Palestinian village of El Bireh.

Psagot remained under lockdown until early Sunday morning when it was determined that the attacker was no longer in the community.

But while the Forward is free to read, it isn’t free to produce. Big stories — like deep dives into the antisemitism data, political scoops or reporting trips to college campuses  —  take months of research and fact-checking. All while we keep you informed of what you need to know each day.
