Muslim Teen Arrested for Emailing Death Threats to French Jewish Leaders
French police have arrested a Muslim teen for emailing death threats to two Jewish leaders in France.
The teen, 19, identified only as Amin, according to reports, e-mailed videos of the decapitation of Islamic State hostages to Israel’s consul-general in Marseille Barnea Hasid, and Meir Habib, a Jewish member of France’s parliament. In the e-mail, he threatened the Jewish leaders with “a similar fate.”
Amin was interrogated by police for three days and was ordered to remain under house arrest until the start of his trial on April 2, Ynet reported.
His family reportedly said that Amin was confused and had recently been reading informational material on Islamic Jihad.
