Kiryas Joel Delivery Man Charged For Anti-Semitic Graffiti

(JTA) — A man who allegedly sprayed anti-Semitic graffiti inside a residential building in the upstate New York Hasidic village of Kiryas Joel was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

New York State Police on Thursday arrested James Blazeski, 24. He was arraigned in the Village of Monroe Court and remanded to Orange County jail, where he is being held on $2,500 cash bail, the Times Herald-Record . His vandalism was classified as a hate crime.

JP Updates reported that Blazeski works as a delivery man for a store in Kiryas Joel, a town in New York’s Orange County almost exclusively inhabited by members of the Satmar sect of Hasidic Judaism. According to JP Updates, Blazeski is accused of writing “Death to Jews” on a hallway door and leaving a note on the floor that said “Dirty Jews.
