Judy Rapfogel, the former chief of staff to disgraced onetime New York State Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver, is no longer working for Jared Kushner’s real estate company, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
Rapfogel worked as a property manager for the Kushner Companies for just over a year.
Her husband, William Rapfogel, is the former leader of the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty. He went to jail for stealing $9 million from the organization, and was released from prison earlier this year.
Judy Rapfogel also receives a state pension of over $100,000 per year due to her long tenure at the Assembly.
Silver, Judy Rapfogel’s longtime boss, was convicted of corruption charges two years ago, but an appeals court overturned the conviction this summer. Prosecutors say they plan to try him again.
