Bannon: Breitbart is More ‘Pro-Jewish’ Than The Forward

Graphic by Angelie Zaslavsky
Steve Bannon thinks that his “alt-right”-promoting website Breitbart is “the most pro-Jewish site of any news site, and I include The Forward in that.”
Speaking on Breitbart’s radio show, Bannon said that the website he runs defends “young Jewish kids on college campuses” from anti-Semitism.
Bannon didn’t say why he had singled out The Forward among the dozens of Jewish news websites. His swipe at the publication came a day after he addressed the annual dinner of the Zionist Organization of America, at which there was much public criticism of The Forward.
Earlier this year, The Forward exposed ties between Bannon ally Sebastian Gorka and a far-right Hungarian group founded by the Nazis.

Why I became the Forward’s editor-in-chief
You are surely a friend of the Forward if you’re reading this. And so it’s with excitement and awe — of all that the Forward is, was, and will be — that I introduce myself to you as the Forward’s newest editor-in-chief.
And what a time to step into the leadership of this storied Jewish institution! For 129 years, the Forward has shaped and told the American Jewish story. I’m stepping in at an intense time for Jews the world over. We urgently need the Forward’s courageous, unflinching journalism — not only as a source of reliable information, but to provide inspiration, healing and hope.
