WATCH: Thrillist Discovers Kosher Pizza And Declares It “Good”

Yesterday, Thrillist posted a video showcasing kosher pizza in its series Food/Groups, which covers various communities and their relationships to food. The video features Chanie Apfelbaum, the kosher food blogger behind Busy in Brooklyn, as she explains to Thrillist contributor Dave Infante why she loves the Midwood-based kosher eatery Pizza Time.
Over lunch, she gives him a tutorial in the basic laws of kashrut. As they chow down on some of Pizza Time’s best slices, including a Grandma (a thick Sicilian-style square) and a thin-crust version topped with mac and cheese, Infante notes that he felt “no need to qualify it as being good for kosher…it’s just good pizza.”
This is hardly surprising. Over the last 10 years or so, kosher restaurants have increasingly become more high-end, producing food of exceptional quality. Kosher pizza joints have been upping their game as well; high quality kosher pizza can be found across the tri-state area, even in Midwood, Brooklyn.
