The Hartford Courant [reports][2]: “Party leaders also have been passing the word that if Lieberman beats Lamont in November, he probably will retain his seniority and could become a committee chairman if Democrats win a majority.” During an hour-long breakfast briefing with reporters, Ned Lamont rejects calls to impeach or censure President Bush over the war and said that he would not support efforts to end the war by withholding Pentagon funding, and says he wouldn’t vote to confirm Lieberman as a replacement for Don Rumsfeld.
