There’s a lot at stake. This was a presidential campaign season dominated by hateful rhetoric and outright lies. Extremist media outlets spewed forth a barrage of fake news stories based on invented “facts.”

Honest, hard-working journalists were made into villains. Many Jewish reporters — including several on our staff — were the targets of hundreds of offensive, anti-Semitic tweets, emails and phone calls.

But we are undeterred. Fearlessly reporting the truth to our readers has been a Forward hallmark for 120 years, and we’re not going to stop now.
