Just as we are getting word that the IDF is training West Bank Settlers to handle possible confrontations with Palestinians following the expected vote in the U.N. General Assembly in favor of Palestinian statehood, a rather disturbing video has surfaced about another defense force, the IBF.
IBF stands for Israel’s Best Friend, a non-profit organization that trains dogs for what it calls a “Civilian Attack Dog Unit,” and the “K9 Jewish Legion.” According to the video and the description posted with it on YouTube, the dogs’ mission is to defend Jews specifically against Arabs and Muslims.
That’s a whiff of racism, along with some dog poop, that you smell. As many believe, racism is learned behavior, and it appears that even canines can be taught to be racist.
“Muslim Terrorists, who consider dogs unclean, fear our Malinois and Dobermans more than they fear firearms and airstrikes,” asserts the text posted on YouTube.
Following a 2-minute segment set to adrenalin-pumping music showing how the dogs are trained at West Bank outposts to attack Arabs and Muslims, IBF’s CEO Yekutiel “Mike” Guzofsky is seen sitting in front of shelves of religious books, two of the dogs cuddling with him. “The Jewish Canine Unit in Israel is a unique and special unit. The dogs that you see here licking me are really very friendly dogs — to their Jewish masters. But they are very, very dangerous dogs if you are an Arab terrorist trying to penetrate into a Jewish town in Judea and Samaria, or anywhere else in Israel. We train these dogs to bite and neutralize Arab terrorists, to detect them and to prevent terrorist attacks,” Guzofsky says in his thick New York accent.
Guzofsky is a follower of the late Meir Kahane and was a leader of the now-outlawed Kahane Chai movement has been labeled a Jewish extremist and militant. He is barred from entry into the United Kingdom.
The purpose of the video is to fundraise and recruit young Jewish people to train the dogs. “If you are young and are thinking about doing something meaningful for your people,” then this is a great opportunity for you, Guzofsky offers in all sincerity.
The Shmooze wonders whether it’s a requirement to wear the yellow t-shirts that some of the trainers can be seen wearing in the video. The front says, “The Land of Israel by blood and fire,” and the back says “Jews expel non-Jews.”
How can a dog tell the difference between a Jew and an Arab or Muslim?
