Grammys Jewish Highlights

All eyes and ears were on the Grammys on Sunday night. Here are some Jewish highlights:

Jack Antonoff and his band fun. won for Best New Artist and for Best Song of the Year for “We Are Young,” and Drake’s “Take Care” won for best rap album.

Watch Lena Dunham, who was hard to miss in her bright yellow dress, kvelling as her boyfriend Jack Antonoff and fun. won for Best Song of the Year.

Before the awards show, Freedom to Marry highlighted 10 Grammy nominees who support gay marriage. Among them were fun. and Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

At his annual pre-Grammys gala, Clive Davis honored the memory of Whitney Houston, who died hours before last year’s party.

Not one to bow to celebrity peer pressure, Jack Black did his own kind of fashion thing for the ceremony.

On the other hand, Kat Dennings looked fab in a shiny periwinkle strapless number.

Drake was fortunate to win an award, but many wonder whether he was trying to upstage the Grammys by releasing the video for his new “Started From The Bottom” single. It is hard to look away from it — and see if you can spot his mom in it.

And in other news:

In the U.S., the Grammys were the big news. However, over on the other side of the pond, the focus was on the BAFTA Awards. Sarah Jessica Parker, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Sarah Silverman were among the American stars who walked the red carpet in London.

People are still hot for Bar Refaeli’s controversial kiss in that Go Daddy Super Bowl ad. Jay Leno wanted to get in on the lip locking action when the supermodel visited his show. But some fashionistas questioned Refaeli’s choice of outfit for her late night television appearance.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is planning to leave a lot of the porn in his new film about porn on the cutting room floor so it can qualify for an R rating.

Speaking of porn, adult film star Ron Jeremy is on the mend after surgery for an aneurysm.

Adam Levine has jumped on the celebrity fragrance bandwagon a couple of years after declaring he would like to put a ban on such perfumes and colognes. Of course, it’s a Maroon 5 front man and “The Voice” mentor’s prerogative to change his mind.

“The Social Network” actor Jesse Eisenberg is focusing on his playwriting at the moment.

Meanwhile, Barbra Streisand has signed a film directing deal. No details on specific projects are available yet.

It seems Lindsay Lohan and Woody Allen are the best of friends. Go figure.

Broadway producers are happy to oblige when Scarlett Johansson says she wants to star on the Great White Way.

Mayim Bialik shares tips on how to make Purim costumes for your kids on the cheap.

One need only look at Tori Spelling’s face in this photo to understand that being stranded with four children under age five when your car breaks down is no fun.

It looks like Alicia Keys will probably play Tel Aviv this summer, while Israeli diva Rita will sing at the United Nations next month.
