Mayim Bialik Weans Four-Year-Old

Perhaps the biggest celebrity news of late is that Mayim Bialik has successfully—and finally—weaned her 4-year-old son Fred. Critics of the actress’ attachment parenting approach thought the day might never have come.

While we’re on the topic of celeb parenting, we’ll mention that Julianna Margulies’ 5-year-old son Kieran makes her life an adventure every day, and that Bethenny Frankel appears to be trying to shield daughter Bryn from the unpleasantness of her divorce from Jason Hoppy. Also, not only is Jamie-Lynn Sigler engaged to be married, but she is also pregnant.

Anne Hathaway has received lots of praise for her performance as Fantine in “Les Miserables,” but had things gone differently in the audition process, it could have been Scarlett Johansson in the role. By the way, ScarJo enjoys laying eyes on her “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” co-star Ben Walker’s butt.

You might have heard that Sarah Silverman gave a shout out to her sister, Rabbi Susan Silverman, when she got arrested for wearing a tallit at the Western Wall. But, did you check out the exact (blue) language the comedienne used on Twitter in praising her sibling?

If you are still reveling in the afterglow of the Grammys and BAFTAs, here is Adam Levine hanging with Sting, Harvey Weinstein being chummy with Michael Fassbender, and Lena Dunham being called out for a lack of fashion sense.

Looking ahead to the Oscars, Dustin Hoffman shares with us that he usually gets smashed before walking the red carpet.

There’s a new Liz Taylor-Richard Burton biopic in the works and Lindsay Lohan is nowhere in sight. This time, Taylor will be played by Helena Bonham-Carter.

Gwyneth Paltrow shared with Vogue her admiration for her good friend Beyoncé’s approach to balancing work and motherhood.

Ever wonder about Mila Kunisrules about appearing nude on screen? They’re actually quite specific.

The uber-prolific James Franco has a new art exhibition called “Gay Town” showing in Berlin. He’s obviously still on a role with gay themes.

There’s going to be a “Finding Nemo 2,” and Albert Brooks will be back as Marlin.

And, for your viewing pleasure, we have: Julia Louis-Dreyfus in an Israeli ad for a cable TV channel that has angered women’s groups; Billy Eichner playing a hilarious round of “Whistleblow that Jew” (it sounds more offensive than it is) with Rashida Jones; and Maya Rudolph singing a duet with Paul F. Tompkins.

In this age of misinformation, our work is needed like never before. We report on the news that matters most to American Jews, driven by truth, not ideology.

At a time when newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall. That means for the first time in our 126-year history, Forward journalism is free to everyone, everywhere. With an ongoing war, rising antisemitism, and a flood of disinformation that may affect the upcoming election, we believe that free and open access to Jewish journalism is imperative.

Readers like you make it all possible. Right now, we’re in the middle of our Passover Pledge Drive and we still need 300 people to step up and make a gift to sustain our trustworthy, independent journalism.

Make a gift of any size and become a Forward member today. You’ll support our mission to tell the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
