Feminist activist Gloria Steinem will explore problems affecting women across the globe, including child marriage in Zambia and sexual assault in the U.S. military, in “Woman,” her new (and first) TV show for Viceland, a new network from Vice geared towards Millennials.
The show, which was produced by a team of almost all women, will comprise of eight episodes and is set to premiere on Tuesday, the New York Times reported.
“What I hope is, seeing it will be the closest thing to being on the ground yourself,” Steinem said. “It is being a witness. And people in hard times need a witness, and somebody who can help.”
“I think she’s a hero,” Shane Smith, a Vice founder, said of Steinem.

Why I became the Forward’s editor-in-chief
You are surely a friend of the Forward if you’re reading this. And so it’s with excitement and awe — of all that the Forward is, was, and will be — that I introduce myself to you as the Forward’s newest editor-in-chief.
And what a time to step into the leadership of this storied Jewish institution! For 129 years, the Forward has shaped and told the American Jewish story. I’m stepping in at an intense time for Jews the world over. We urgently need the Forward’s courageous, unflinching journalism — not only as a source of reliable information, but to provide inspiration, healing and hope.
