The New Ruth Bader Ginsburg Documentary Trailer Is Out Of Control

What do you like in a movie? You like triumph against injustice? You like romance? You like unlikely success stories? You like history? You like action? You like celebrities? You like feeling hope?

I think you’ll like the new Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary “RBG.”

The trailer for “RBG,” a new documentary by Betsy West and Julie Cohen, was released on Wednesday, and it promises to be excellent. The movie looks like it combines a thorough, bracing study of Ginsburg’s life and work as well as an inquiry into our collective response to Ginsburg as a legal mind and cultural figure. The trailer opens with the justice quoting feminist and abolitionist Sarah Moore Grimke, goes on to show intimate interviews in which she describes herself as a “kindergarten teacher” to her early peers on the court who “didn’t think sex discrimination existed,” and includes shots of her planking.

“RBG” premieres on May 4. We at The Schmooze predict that time will be remembered as The Summer of Ginsburg.
