Cardi B Is In Talks to Play Fran Drescher’s Daughter In ‘The Nanny’ Reboot

When we first found out a reboot of “The Nanny” would possibly be gracing our TV screens with iconic celebrity Fran Drescher, we were all ears. “Tell us more!” we shouted in Queens accents from our rooftops, or rather, our office cubicles.
The gorgeous nasal voice of Fran Fine (Drescher’s on-screen name) has spoken to Extra and now we’re privy to the most riveting update: rapper Cardi B is in talks to play Fran’s daughter on the lovable show. Name a more dynamic duo, we dare you.
But why choose Cardi to take on this role, fans (as in me) asked?
Well, for one, the award-winning rapper attributed her Milan Fashion Week head-to-toe leopard ensemble to the 61-year-old celebrity in an Instagram post, describing her sartorial choice as “Fran Drescher in Dolce and Gabbana.”
“She started it [the Instagram posts] because she kind of paid homage to me, putting our pictures side by side when she was wearing animal print and it was me in animal from ‘The Nanny’ and that just went viral,” Drescher said. “That got my creative juices going.” Friends, there can be no stopping this train: the juices are flowing.
An underrated reason this unlikely pair would work well together is because they share excellent vocal timbres. “She’s got a funny voice, too,” Drescher said. “What kind of a great mother/daughter would we be? Amazing, I think.”
The massively popular rapper is all-caps interested, too. “”IM WITH IT !!!!This makes me so happy cause i love her,” Cardi B wrote on Instagram.
Bartier Cardi and Fran-Fran built their brands on the same idea: Only the real can relate.
