Should the Israeli government invest in American Jewish schools?

How can Israel better engage with the Jewish Diaspora, especially American Jews? It’s a complicated question with even more complicated proposed solutions. Zvika Klein of Makor Rishon sat down with three Jewish and Israeli journalists about the state of the (Jewish) state of Israel-Diaspora relations: Yaakov Katz, Editor-in-Chief of The Jerusalem Post; Shmuel Rosner, Columnist at the Jewish Journal, Maariv and JPPI; and Tal Schneider, Political and diplomatic correspondent at Globes.
The four opine on the ways Israel can invest in its relationship with American Jews and propose what programming solutions could create a path to stronger ties to Israel. They debated whether Israel should invest in Jewish schools, Hebrew language education and how American Jewish institutions should adapt to increase engagement with Israel.
The conversation was hosted by Our Common Destiny, a joint initiative of Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora and Genesis Philanthropy Group under the auspices of the President of Israel. The organization is dedicated to embracing the diversity of the Jewish people and developing a collective vision for the Jewish future.
