Rachel Cowan tried to heal the growing rift between American Jews and Israel.
The Jewish community is extending its condolences to the family of Rabbi Rachel Cowan, an innovative American Jewish leader who died Friday at the age of 77. Here’s what the Forward has written about her over the years:
Cowan was one of the co-founders of the Jewish Healing Center and the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.
“Sometimes,” she said, “I feel like I hate this cancer.”
In the video, she addresses members of Congress considering the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act and urges them to preserve Medicare.
When Rabbi Rachel Cowan turned 75 earlier this year, she threw herself a unique birthday party — one in keeping with her character.
