A strong America will always stand with a strong Israel, Mitt Romney said in his Rosh Hashanah message.
“Israel is among America’s best friends and closest allies in the world and I believe no one should never doubt this basic truth: A free and strong America will always stand with a free and strong Israel,” the Republican presidential candidate said, recalling his visit to the country in July.
Romney, in the video message released Sept. 13, also noted the role of the U.S. Jewish community in building the U.S. economy, and said the High Holy Days are a time to contemplate creating a better future.
“They are a time for families to gather and embrace our many blessings and they offer a chance to think about how we can improve our lives in years ahead,” he said.
President Obama, in his own Rosh Hashanah message delivered the same day, called for reconciliation in a political season that has been especially fraught with charged rhetoric.
