Ku Klux Klan Plans Trump Victory Rally

After President-elect Donald Trump’s upset victory, the ‘alt-right’ is exultant, emboldened more than ever to take its hate off the Internet and onto the streets. Such is the case with the Ku Klux Klan, which announced plans on Thursday to hold a victory rally in North Carolina this December.

“Trump’s Race United My People,” blared the homepage of the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, an active hate group with hundreds of members. According to the site, the “Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade” will be held on Dec. 3 in the town of Pelham.

In its mission statement, the group outlines its white supremacist aims.

“We hate drugs, homosexuality, abortion and race-mixing, because these things go against God’s law and they are destroying all white nations,” their mission statement reads. “Our goal is to help restore America to a White Christian nation, founded on God’s word. This does not mean that we want to see anything bad happen to the darker races … we simply want to live separate from them … As GOD intended.”

Members of the ‘alt-right’ have cheered Trump’s campaign from the start, encouraged by his calls to ban Muslim immigration and seal the border with Mexico. Since Tuesday’s results were announced, there have been a rash of hate crimes and racist harassment, much of which has been documented on Twitter.
