Trump Thinks Ruth Bader Ginsburg Is Going To Be Gone Soon
President Trump reportedly predicted that he will replace four Supreme Court justices by the end of his first term — including Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The political news website Axios reported Sunday that Trump, who has already appointed Neil Gorsuch to replace the late Antonin Scalia, had been discussing replacing three more justices who have lifetime tenure.
After discussing Scalia and Anthony Kennedy, who is frequently rumored to be about to retire, Trump was asked about two more.
“Ginsburg,” Trump replied, according to Axios. “What does she weigh, 60 pounds?”
Ginsburg is 84 years old and has served on the Supreme Court since 1993. She is known for her intense workout regimen, and pledged earlier this year to “do this job as long as I can do it full steam.”
Trump also reportedly named Sonia Sotomayor, who is only 63 but has had diabetes since childhood, as another person who may leave the court.
