Yid Vid: His Socalled Video

Hip-hop-and-Yiddish fusionist Socalled’s new video for his song ” You Are Never Alone” is really, really weird (and actually kind of gross). But it’s also proven to be really, really popular: In the past nine days, it has been viewed a staggering 666,496 times on YouTube:

The Montreal-based Socalled (aka Josh Dolgin) makes some amazingly inventive music, and he’s getting some recognition with his new album. Spin magazine wrote that his new record, “Ghettoblaster,” may be the most unusual hip-hop album of the year.”
