Report: Natalie Portman Is Pregnant, Engaged
Much has been made about how much weight Natalie Portman, 29, and her co-stars had to lose for their roles in Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.” But for Portman, at least, the scale is about to go in the opposite direction — and with good reason.
Reps for the Israeli-born actress told People magazine that she is pregnant, and engaged to French ballet dancer choreographer Benjamin Millepied, who helped train her to dance the lead role in the film’s production of “Swan Lake.”
In a recent (pre-pregnancy revelation) interview with people.com, Portman — whose role as a self-destructive ballet dancer earned her a Golden Globe nomination — noted that her diet now is a lot less restrictive than it was while she was preparing for “Black Swan.”
During the filming, she said she cut way back on her portions; after “Black Swan” wrapped, “it was just pasta and bread and pizza all the time,” she told People.
Whatever keeps the morning sickness at bay.
