Meet the Lucky 10-Year-Old Girl Who Rocked Out With Bruce Springsteen
Fourth grader Diana Zorek has a pretty cool story to tell her friends when she goes back to school after spring break.
The 10 year old from the Upper West Side of Manhattan just sang “Blinded By the Light” as a duet with Bruce Springsteen as 18,000 fans looked on and cheered at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The Boss from Jersey first noticed Zorek when she unfurled a hot pink poster saying “I’ve been Blinded by the Light! (I’m 10 years old and I know all the words. Try me!)”
“I was extremely nervous, when he said ‘come on up,’” Zorek excitedly recalled in an interview with the Forward. “My knees were shaking and my hands were in fists to keep them from shaking and the lights went on in the crowd and it was 18,000 people singing with me.”
Her father Michael Zorek, who proudly described his young daughter as a “fan out of the womb,” said he used to sing “Blinded By the Light” to Zorek when she was young, passing on his passion and love of Springsteen to his daughter.
She may have been nervous, but this is not Zorek’s first foray into the limelight. You’ll remember remember her in this At&t commercial:
And this Comedy Central promo with Tom Hiddelston as Loki:
After her performance, Zorek received a round applause in the ladies room. A humorous end to an eventful night.
Springsteen signed Zorek’s poster and it will soon be framed and hung in her room. Talk about wall decor!
