Feeling Stressed About The High Holy Days? Try ‘Religious Reefer’

When you’re feeling the strain of planning a break-the-fast for 50, try a strain of Religious Reefer. A new humor video from LA comic Benny Spiewak imagines a brand of weed called “religious reefer” (technical term, “besamim”), to get you through the holiday season. The yamim noraim have never been this awesome.
Whether it’s a subtle vape (which can double as a yad!) or getting crossfaded with Manischewitz and the “Bud Mitzvah” strain of besamim, a reduced short-term memory and appetite for carbs is a great way to get through this season of forgiveness and family time.
Religious Reefer! Atone stoned.

Why I became the Forward’s editor-in-chief
You are surely a friend of the Forward if you’re reading this. And so it’s with excitement and awe — of all that the Forward is, was, and will be — that I introduce myself to you as the Forward’s newest editor-in-chief.
And what a time to step into the leadership of this storied Jewish institution! For 129 years, the Forward has shaped and told the American Jewish story. I’m stepping in at an intense time for Jews the world over. We urgently need the Forward’s courageous, unflinching journalism — not only as a source of reliable information, but to provide inspiration, healing and hope.
