The announcement follows a particularly successful year for Louis-Dreyfus. The actress recently took home an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in an Outstanding Comedy Series for her role in “Veep,” making it her sixth Emmy win in a row — a record.
Louis-Dreyfus’ call for universal healthcare is not her first foray into the political arena. She endorsed Barack Obama during both of his campaigns, endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016, and has been a prominent environmental activist for several years now. Most recently, Louis-Dreyfus spoke out against Donald Trump’s travel ban during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
