As “TODAY” reports, Lena Dunham doesn’t take criticism too seriously. With the second season of her show “Girls” starting this weekend, Dunham says you’ll love it if you loved it last season and she’s sure there will be some haters. Dunham is no newbie to criticism; “Girls” has been attacked for its “lack of diversity…” but Dunham stays true to herself and only writes what she knows. She insists her characters are based on real people.

A breathtaking fireworks and laser show wowed Vladivostok residents on Saturday (September 8) night as leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC) visited their city. Lights choreographed to music were interwoven with colouful explosions in the nearly 20 minute spectacle. Though the rainy weather wasn’t ideal for pyrotechnics, thousands of people flocked to the Pacific port city bay to watch the show. Two barges blasted the pyrotechnics into the air near a bridge crossing the bay, newly-built for the summit. Russian news agency Interfax reported the fireworks and laser display cost Russia 275 million rubles ($8.6 million USD).
The 56th Mercedes-Benz Madrid Fashion Week has wrapped up after a series of events during the past six days in the Spanish capital. Though affected by the current economic crisis, this year’s fashion week still attracted 41 top Spanish designers to take part in the event including David Delfin, Jesus del Pozo and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Many fashion-related attractions like free make-up lessons and hairstyle designs were also available for visitors, along with the 40 shows presented this year.
