NEW JERSEY
The David Glukh Klezmer Ensemble performs at “Klezmer at the Shore.” Featuring Glukh on piccolo and trumpet, Ronn Yedidia on accordion and Dan Auerbach on violin, the ensemble’s members are all Juilliard graduates.
“We’re going to play traditional, Jewish and klezmer music from Ukraine, Poland, Hungary… pretty much every country in Eastern Europe,” Glukh said about the show. The Russian-born Glukh performed in more than 70 concerts with Dallas Brass before leaving the group in 2002. Yedidia, who won his first music prize at age 8 in Israel, has composed a number of works that have been broadcast on American radio and TV stations. The Israeli-born Auerbach is currently chair of the strings and ensembles department at the Calderone School of Music. As a soloist, he has appeared in major venues in New York City, and as a chamber musician, he has collaborated with many ensembles. The trio recently released a CD, “Live From New York.”

This is a moment of great uncertainty for the news media, for the Jewish people, and for our sacred democracy. It is a time of confusion and declining trust in public institutions. An era in which we need humans to report facts, conduct investigations that hold power to account, tell stories that matter and share honest discourse on all that divides us.
With no paywall or subscriptions, the Forward is entirely supported by readers like you. Every dollar you give this Passover is invested in the future of the Forward — and telling the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
The Forward doesn’t rely on funding from institutions like governments or your local Jewish federation. There are thousands of readers like you who give us $18 or $36 or $100 each month or year.
