Heartless Thieves Steal Teddy Bears From Function
Thieves stole teddy bear centerpieces from a brit while the guests were eating at the catered affair.
A man and woman worked together to remove the centerpieces during the celebration Aug. 12 for the twin grandchildren of a New York City Councilman, Michael Nelson of Brooklyn, and his wife, Maureen, the New York Daily News reported.
The guests thought the man who removed the centerpieces during the meal were with the caterer, according to the newspaper. His partner walked among the guests asking for charitable donations.
Family members chased the male thief for two blocks, but he outran them while carrying the centerpieces. The thieves passed over several envelopes with cash gifts for the newborns, according to the newspaper.
