I Created a Jewish Dating App — Here’s Why I Decided to Try Matchmaking Offline, Too

As a founder of JCrush, nothing makes me feel more like I’m contributing to society than receiving emails from our users thanking JCrush for helping them find love. Every month, I read emails from beautiful couples from around the world that kindly share their love stories about how they met on JCrush. They attach pictures that show off their happy smiles, beautiful engagement rings, and sometimes even include invites to their weddings. Recently we even had our first JCrush baby (that we know of)! If my parents and I ever did anything right in this life, it was immigrating to the United States from Russia, giving me the opportunity to create something that helps people all of the world find love.
This January will mark JCrush’s 3rd birthday. While I am the biggest advocate of dating apps, I also understand that they are not for everyone. Over the past three years, the market has become extremely saturated with all kinds of dating apps, which make millennials feel overwhelmed.
But while the dating pool has become a vast ocean of endless options, every day I encounter singles (male and female alike) who tell me how difficult it is to meet someone compatible.
Friends, mothers, and even complete strangers that sit next to me on the plane express their discouragement and frustration about not being able to meet quality suitors for themselves or their children. There seems to be a need for a more personal touch when it comes to dating and introducing compatible singles to one another. I see a real need in the community to help Jewish singles meet, so here I go as the new matchmaker in town.
I decided to take on this exciting challenge and will hopefully be as successful in helping singles find love offline as I am on JCrush. On a daily basis, I interview many single men and women and try to match them based on their desired preferences. When you are ready for a meaningful relationship, going the matchmaker route is more beneficial than mindlessly swiping right. I can introduce you to potential dates whom I know not only share the same relationship goals, but also have similar interests and life goals as you.
Since I personally meet with each and every person, I know exactly what everyone’s physical, mental and emotional traits are, which often can be altered or disguised in an online profile. You can say that I have a sixth sense about who is going to get along great with whom. I hear people often say that they don’t want to be on dating apps because they don’t want others to know they are single and looking for love. Well, good news for you! No one has to know you are working with a matchmaker. Everything is completely confidential and stays between you, me and your future husband or wife.
So, if you’d like to put your life love life in my hands, send me a message — this can be a start to something exciting for both of us.
Lots of Love,
Sonya
