Avital, who also teaches journalism at Yeshiva University’s Stern College, will explain the challenges of speaking truth to power, reporting on her own community, and navigating modernity and tradition at Beth Tfiloh Congregation on November 13 at 7 p.m.
After her talk, there will be a Q&A led by Rabbi Chai Posner. The event is one in Beth Tfiloh’s 4-part speaker series, “The Traditional Jewish Family Confronts the Nontraditional 21st Century.” It is presented in conjunction with The Baltimore Festival of Jewish Literature.

Why I became the Forward’s Editor-in-Chief
