Director of Oz?
Natalie Portman is reportedly interested in directing the film version of Israeli author Amos Oz’s autobiography, “A Tale of Love and Darkness.”
Portman, who was making the hearts of Jewish males of all ages flutter even before exposing her midriff in the “Star Wars” prequel, has starred as Anne Frank on Broadway and appeared in “Free Zone,” Israeli director Amos Gitai’s exploration of Arab-Jewish tensions in Israel.
According to media reports, Jerusalem Capital Studios spokesman Danny Levy has said that, in addition to directing, Portman is considering playing Oz’s mother, who committed suicide when he was young.
