15 Reasons Schmidt From ‘New Girl’ Is the Ultimate Jewish Friend

Graphic by Angelie Zaslavsky
Season 6 of “New Girl” (finally!) starts tonight and we’re celebrating by paying homage to the loft’s resident Jew, Schmidt.
Apologies for playing favorites, but out of all of the crew, we would definitely most want to co-opt him as our roommate. Driving moccasins and all.
He’ll give it to you straight.
He has no patience for sports.
He’ll tell you when you wear something unflattering.

He’d definitely hang out with you if you’re lonely on Christmas Eve.
You can take him to any Jewish dating event.

And he’ll tell you who to avoid.

He refuses to let you wallow.
But if you do need to wallow, he’s right there with you.
He makes for an excellent dance partner.
He tells you how he really feels.
He’s there for you with relationship advice.
He can be surprisingly romantic.
Because in the end he cares.
Like, really, really cares.
Yes, Schmidty. You certainly are.
