The Week Ahead: February 27 – Sunday March 5

Monday

Los Angeles — Join the executive director of JOFA for a pop-up coffee salon. A first person guide to women in Orthodoxy for the price of a latte? It’s a yes from me. Men and women welcome.

Boston — February 28 is Mardi Gras, and while New Orleans may hold a monopoly on the holiday, Beantown yopros should head over to Bill’s Bar Boston for Gin & Jews Bar Night: Mardi Gras Edition. Beads, booze, and king cake — what more do you need?

Wednesday

Boston — Hebrew-speakers with a sense of humor should check out Israeli comedian Meni Ozeri, performing in Newton this week.

8:00-11:00 p.m. General seating $50; Front row $65

Anywhere — Binge watch GIRLS with the Forward’s official Season 6 drinking game this humpday; you’ve earned it.

Thursday

NYC — Join the American Sephardic Federation (ASF) Young Leadership for their first happy hour at Cupping Room Cafe. Cash bar, drink specials, and our inside sources promise it’ll be lit A(s)F.

Friday

NYC — Kick off Shabbat with a jazz soirée and delicious Mediterranean dinner with OneTable in Chelsea.

Feeling more traditional? Can’t wait until Purim for a taste of Persia? Join the Manhattan Jewish Experience for Shas Shabbat: expect marble, lots of gold, kaftans, and mustaches galore.

Saturday

Chicago — Join JCC 20s & 30s for an unforgettable night with comedy group YidLife Crisis as they make their windy city debut at Old Crow Smokehouse.
