Beastie Boy’s Lens
Adam Yauch (aka MCA) of the Beastie Boys is launching an independent film distribution company, Oscilloscope Pictures. The Brooklyn-born hip-hop icon — who was born to a Jewish family and is now a Buddhist — directed and produced “Awesome; I F—-n’ Shot That!” (ThinkFilm), a documentary that includes footage of a 2004 Beastie Boys show at Madison Square Garden. Yauch will join forces with former ThinkFilm exec David Fenkel, who will help run the new company.
